The BMW X3 SUV car

BMW is well known for building cars that merit the highest raise for driving excellence and overall ability. The company has taken early reviews and owner opinions into account, sharpening up the X3 model for it’s second generation.

Aesthetically, the new BMW X3 now has more in common with the X5. As part of the package, satellite navigation and heated front seats now come as standard. Other changes include a new headlight design, new alloys, a bolder traditional kidney grille and revised front and rear bumpers.

A new generation of TwinPower Turbo diesel engines have joined the ranks, the sDrive18d achieving a combined fuel consumption figure of 56.5mpg at CO2 emissions of 131g/km while the xDrive35d can achieve 47.1mpg with a 0-62mph time of 5.3 seconds.

A new trim level joins the existing SE and M Sport, the xLine. This will be identified by metallic inserts in the bumpers, aluminium side cladding and bars in the air intakes. Underguard protection at the front and rear is added, along with exclusive 18inch alloys. The xLine will cost around £1,500 more than the SE models in the UK.

Sales of the new BMW X3 will commence in June, with prices starting at just short of £31,000.

Many other manufacturers such as Audi and Meredes have too revised their car range for 2014 and these will become available before the end of the year.
