Honda to bring new Civic to the UK

Honda has announced the pricing for the new Honda Civic Tourer, set to join it’s counterpart the Hatchback in the brands line up. The new model is 235mm longer than the Hatchback version and offers 624litres boot space as standard and with Honda’s ‘Magic Seats’ this becomes 1,668litres when the seats are folded away. The Tourer will be available in two engine types and four trim levels.


We at Easy Gap Insurance have been paying close attention the Japanese brand Honda and the goings on at one of the worlds largest mass market manufacturers. The Japanese brand has been amongst the worlds elite for a number of years and has recently fallen off the top of the charts due to a number of manufacturing and recall issues.


The Honda Civic Tourer Engines.

The two available engine types are;

  • 1.8 i-VTEC petrol – 140bhp with 45.5mpg and CO2 emissions of 149g/km.
  • 1.6 i-DTEC diesel – 119bhp with 74.3mpg and CO2 emissions of 99g/km.


The Honda Civic Tourer Trim level grades.

There are four types of grades to choose from on both engine types, these are;

  • Entry level S grade – Comes with Bluetooth Hands Free Telephone (HFT), DAB radio, USB connectivity and 16inch alloy wheels.
  • SE plus – Comes with rear parking sensors and 17inch alloy wheels.
  • SR – Comes with a rear Adaptive Damper System (ADS), front heated seats, HDD navigation and privacy glass. The ADS system automatically adjusts the rear suspension for extra stability and comfort depending on the load and driving conditions.
  • The top EX grade – Comes with a headlight washer, smart entry and start capability, sunglasses holder, interior blue ambient lighting and Bi-HID headlights with auto levelling.


Safety Extras for the Honda Civic Tourer.

Dealers are also offering optional added safety packs for certain grades.

With the SE, SR and EX grades a Driver Assistance Safety Pack is available for an extra £780. The pack includes; The City-Brake Active System, Forward Collision Warning, High Beam Support System, Traffic Sign Recognition System, Blind Spot Information and Cross Traffic Monitor.

The second safety pack is only available on EX models and costs an extra £2,500. It comes with all the safety features in pack one but with an added Automatic Cruise Control. In this pack the City-Brake Active System is replaced by the Collision Mitigation Braking System.


Pricing for the Honda Civic Tourer model.

Prices start at over £21,000 for the i-DTEC models;

  • S – £21,375.
  • SE – £22,960.
  • SR – £25,560.
  • EX – £27,460.


For the i-VTEC models;

  • S – £20,265.
  • SE – £21,950.
  • SR – £24,350.
  • EX – £26,250.


The new Honda Civic Tourer models should be available to order from dealers in December and should arrive in showrooms by February 2014.
