Motorway police pursuit ends in death

In general news today we can report that a man was killed as he was escaping a police patrol Friday night on the m6 motorway  around 9.20pm.  The 32 year old man was driving a Ford Focus vehicle as he was being pursued by the police. It is being reported that the driver who has not been officially  named as of yet was driving at some speed trying to flee following police vehicles, when he made the turn onto the M6.

After the driver pulled onto the motorway, we can report that he pulled into the hard shoulder southbound of the m6. He then continued to remove himself from his vehicle and attempt to run across three lanes of the motorway on foot in order to escape oncoming police. It Is being reported the driver reached the Northbound carriageway before being hit by a car that was traveling up the motorway directly in front of the man. Sadly the man was reported dead on the scene of the m6 motorway near Charnock Richard services, Chorley. The motorway then went on to be closed in both directions from Junction 27 to Junction 28 until around about 3am this morning and all drivers were being directed to use the M61 instead during the time.

Police urging for eye witnesses on the motorway or near the area

Three days on from the incident on the m6 which claimed a young man’s life, police are officially appealing for eye witness that were either on the motorway at the time and seen the incident or that were in the area before the incident during the pursuit. Any witnesses are urged to call if you have any information on the matter please contact your local police authority. The incident that occurred involving the tragic death of a man on the m6 motorway has now been passed on to the independent police complaints commission.
